With the increasing trend towards Industry 4.0 and the Smart Manufacturing model, Altus Group, a distributor of capital equipment for electronics assembly, is helping companies choose products that will work within this revolutionary process.
The requirement for real-time processing is becoming an important resource, and Industry 4.0 will help in implementing this development. It is thought to change the face of the electronics industry in the future, with specialist companies producing equipment and software that provides information to improve a customers' efficiency. Altus is helping this innovative process by supplying equipment that works to the "smart" ideal. One example of this is Koh Young's Ksmart Solution, which achieves fully automated real-time process control so it can comfortably sit within a smart factory setting.
Ksmart Solution is a new software that works with technologies that have 3D AOI and SPI capabilities. It incorporates an intelligent platform that ensures the highest level of connectivity for all the inspection stations, enhancing overall automation capability. It is also extremely flexible, allowing connection to all the inspection machines in any given SMT line and has the capacity to collect and analyze measurement data from the SMT process.
The software also allows manufacturers to trace the root cause of defects and process deviation by carrying out essential analyses of reliable full 3D board data.
