Kevin Marion Joins MicroCare
February 6, 2018 | MicroCare Corp.Estimated reading time: 3 minutes
MicroCare Corp. is pleased to announce that Mr. Kevin Marion of Franklin, Wisconsin has been appointed the Regional Sales Manager for the Central USA and Canadian regions, extending roughly from Indiana to Minnesota and into Canada. Mr. Marion comes to MicroCare with more than 30 years of experience in electronics assembly and industrial sales.
“The MicroCare sales force is highly talented, but it is a special moment to recruit a sales executive like Kevin,” announced Dan Sinclair, MicroCare National Sales Manager. “Kevin’s been selling in the region for two decades. He knows every customer, he knows the technology, and he knows our product line. You simply can’t get a better fit.”
Prior to MicroCare, Mr. Marion worked for sixteen years in outside sales for a prominent OEM in the electronics assembly industry and nearly a decade at an industrial distributor, the enormous Marshall Industries out of El Monte, CA. At both of those companies he supervised various sales functions, covering as many as 16 states, managing at times up to 35 manufacturer reps and more than 100 distributor sales representatives.
But Mr. Marion is more than just a steely-eyed pitchman. Expert in the technology of electronics assembly, in the 1990s he introduced clients to the then-radical new component design called “surface mount technology.” He gingerly picked from Marshall’s vast product portfolio to help his clients get the right answers for their needs. His excellent communication skills were tapped to implement vendor training for all the company’s sales people across the entire region. Always working with an eye on the health of the industry at large, he directly participated in local and national SMTA events and seminars.
Tom Tattersall, MicroCare Chief Operating Officer, thinks Mr. Marion adds depth to an already impressive line-up. “Kevin strengthens our team and improves our geographic coverage in very important markets. We will count on his expertise to not only find new customers and better serve existing ones, but also to provide guidance and training to our entire team. Overall, this is just going to be great for our customers.”
“At this point in my career, joining MicroCare is a win-win for everybody,” Mr. Marion said. “MicroCare clearly is the leader in critical cleaning, because they’re inventing new products and processes that nobody can match. Those products are going to help my customers be more successful, creating jobs and proving American technology is the best in the world. I’m looking forward to the challenge!”
It’s hard to believe a person who works as hard as Mr. Marion can have a personal life, but he does. He coaches ice hockey and is now serving his third term on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Junior Admirals Hockey Club, a local youth program that teaches young people the lessons of hockey and life. In his college days, Mr. Marion was a NCAA Division III Ice Hockey National Champion (1988-1991), selected as an NCAA All-American for the 1989-90 season and played professional minor league hockey in Columbus, Ohio. He lives in Wisconsin with his wife of 25 years and has four teenage children.
