KIC Wins 2018 Mexico Technology Award
November 15, 2018 | KICEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
KIC announces that it was awarded a 2018 Mexico Technology Award in the category of Process Control Tools for its RPI i4.0 smart reflow process management system. The award was presented to the company during a Wednesday, November 14, 2018 ceremony that took place during the SMTA Guadalajara Expo & Tech Forum. The new RPI i4.0 automatic profiling system features network software for real-time dashboard, data sharing and traceability storage.
“It is exciting to see that Mexico now is one of the leading countries in the world in investing in smart factory technologies,” Miguel Carbajal, GM KIC Mexico says. “Mexico’s electronic manufacturers are no longer only competing on price, they are rapidly becoming world-class, and attracting business from many of the industry’s most demanding companies. We are very proud to receive this recognition and to support Mexico’s electronic manufacturers in their journey towards the smart factory.”
KIC RPI i4.0 automatically acquires profile data from each product soldered in the reflow or curing oven, in real-time. This new ecosystem offers full thermal process traceability, reduced scrap and rework, improved production line utilization and fast defect troubleshooting. Advanced data search and communication features save engineers valuable time.
The profile is compared to the relevant process window for traceability and can alarm instantly on out of spec conditions. Advanced search and filter functions on product name, customer name, time period and more, instantly provide pertinent data for deeper insight and effective troubleshooting.
With RPI i4.0 all relevant data can connect to the factory MES or your factory data collection system to be easily shared with relevant personnel, and can be accessed from any authorized PC or mobile device anywhere. The enhanced level of automation delivers improved line utilization and productivity, consistent quality, and reduced production cost.
The Mexico Technology Awards recognize the best new innovations in the electronics manufacturing industry in Mexico. The goal of the award program is to celebrate the companies and people that are achieving the highest standards and driving the industry forward.
