National Circuit Assembly Renews AS9100D Certification
January 11, 2019 | National Circuit AssemblyEstimated reading time: 1 minute
National Circuit Assembly, a provider of PCB, cable and electro/mechanical manufacturing and test services to leading OEMs, today announced that it successfully completed the re-certification audit for its AS9100D certification. With this milestone, the company maintains the appropriate, consensus-driven quality benchmarks to serve the aviation, space and defense industries.
Gavin Subel, president of National Circuit Assembly, commented, “Aerospace and defense organizations are known for maintaining high standards and strict requirements, particularly when it comes to quality. It is NCA’s policy to ensure these rigorous requirements are exceeded for all our customers. AS9100D imposes a high level of risk based thinking and new requirements to prevent counterfeit parts being used, which adds additional peace of mind to our customers. Applying these principals helps NCA ensure consistency in our processes and products which is the hallmark of our company.”
AS9100 is an aerospace standard based on the ISO 9001 quality system requirements, adding more stringent requirements specific to the aviation, space and defense industry. The standard takes the requirements of ISO 9001 and supplements them with additional quality system requirements, which are established by the aerospace industry in order to satisfy DOD, NASA and FAA quality requirements.
The intent of the standard is to establish a single quality management system for use within the aerospace industry. The new AS9100D revision to the standard adds additional requirements addressing detailed process descriptions and the risks and opportunities associated with their operation; outside interested third party influences; human factors; and professional ethics.
In addition to the AS9100D certification, National Circuit Assembly is a UL facility. The company is ITAR registered with the U.S. Department of State and effectively uses continuous improvement programs coupled with state-of-the-art inspection and test equipment. Employees are certified to IPC and J-STD-001 workmanship standards by a dedicated in-house certified trainer.
