Zebra Technologies Corporation, an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, introduced the new DS4600 series of 2D handheld imagers featuring models purpose-built for retail, healthcare and electronics manufacturing environments.
The DS4600 is targeted at the following markets:
- DS4600 series for retail speeds-up transactions at the point-of-sale (POS) to keep lines moving, deactivates EAS tags, and serves as a document scanner
- DS4600 series for healthcare features disinfectant-ready housing that can withstand harsh cleaning agents and can be used throughout hospitals for a variety of applications
- DS4600 series for electronics manufacturing improves worker productivity and quality control
The DS4600 series for retail is ideal for front-of-store POS and customer service applications such as mobile coupons, loyalty programs, and parsing driver license information for age verification, returns monitoring and credit card applications. The new 2D imager series also includes models that can be used for medication administration, specimen tracking, patient admission, identification and verification applications in hospitals and outpatient facilities to boost workflow efficiency and improve the patient experience. Within electronics manufacturing environments, the DS4600 series can read virtually every kind of mark and barcode including tiny and dense laser-etched barcodes on plastic and metal subcomponents as well as ink mark, chemical etch, inkjet mold and thermal spray.
All models of the DS4600 series are available with Zebra’s DataCapture DNA suite of productivity, application development and visibility tools that simplify the integration, deployment and management of Zebra devices, lowering their total cost of ownership while maximizing worker productivity.
