BTU International, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics manufacturing market, is celebrating its 70-year anniversary. Since 1950, and with more than 10,000 units shipped, BTU International has been the trusted name for high-tech customers with a need to solve high-volume thermal processing challenges.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Amtech Group (Nasdaq: ASYS), BTU is a global supplier and technology leader of advanced thermal processing equipment in the electronics manufacturing market. BTU’s high-performance reflow ovens are used in the production of SMT printed circuit board assemblies and in semiconductor packaging processes. BTU has operations in Billerica, MA, USA, and Shanghai, China, with a sales and service presence in more than 30 countries.
“The advent of the electronics age was enabled by BTU,” stated Peter Tallian, general manager. “In the early days, we focused on the emerging transistor market, then later thick-film processing. Today, our furnaces and reflow ovens are used for some of the most advanced and demanding applications such as direct bond copper and semiconductor packaging.
