2022 Magic Quadrant for MES: Critical Manufacturing Positioned as a Leader for a Second Consecutive Year
June 6, 2022 | Critical ManufacturingEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Critical Manufacturing, a company that is redefining the role of manufacturing execution systems (MES), has once again been recognized as a Leader by Gartner, Inc. in its 2022 Magic Quadrant for MES.
Critical Manufacturing also scored highest in 3 of the 4 use cases in the 2022 Critical Capabilities for Manufacturing Execution Systems and ranked first among 19 vendors recognized in the research against the ‘Batch/Repetitive Flow Manufacturing’, ‘Complex Discrete Manufacturing’ and ‘Highly Regulated Industries” use cases.
Critical Manufacturing delivers a highly sophisticated, fully integrated, modular MES solution with strong data management and analytical capabilities. It includes Augmented Reality, Digital Twin, and extended MES functionality, supported by a sophisticated platform that manages both IoT and transactional MES data in the same data model. The MES is highly configurable and designed to resolve the complex operational challenges faced by modern manufacturers, which has assisted Critical Manufacturing in building a strong partner and SI ecosystem, as evidenced by a fivefold increase in the number of certified resources in just one year.
Francisco Almada Lobo, Critical Manufacturing CEO, said: “We are honoured to once again be named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant. Our MES is increasingly becoming an enterprise solution, with a single, standard MES that can be deployed across multiple sites. We aim to provide value to our customers by developing a comprehensive MES solution while simultaneously focusing on its adaptability to harness future technologies and provide connectivity to handle the rapid pace and growth of data generated by IoT devices and equipment.”
In the report, Gartner mentions that “MES solutions are a foundational building block of smart manufacturing strategies and digital business for manufacturers. MES technology is evolving and propelling the market in a new direction. By 2025, 60% of new manufacturing execution systems (MES) solutions will be assembled by manufacturers or implementation providers using composable technology.”
Almada Lobo concluded: “To say the least, the past few years have been challenging for the industry, but we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing innovative and novel solutions that enable manufacturers to accelerate their growth and confidently transition to Industry 4.0.”
