NEOTech Implements Advanced Technology for Enhanced Barcode Tracking in High-Tech Medical Device Production
March 8, 2024 | NEOTechEstimated reading time: 1 minute

NEOTech, a leading provider of electronic manufacturing services (EMS), design engineering, and supply chain solutions in the high-tech industrial, medical device, and aerospace/defense markets, is thrilled to announce the implementation of improved technology to further enhance barcode tracking in the production of high-tech medical devices. This new system ensures precise tracking of every component from inventory to final assembly, providing unparalleled transparency and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
The newly implemented system meticulously tracks every surface mount technology (SMT) component reel by part number, date code, and lot number. As components are assembled for medical device manufacturing, each printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) receives a unique serial number, and every component part number and lot number are meticulously tied and tracked to that serial number.
In response to the stringent requirements of medical device original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), NEOTech has taken on the responsibility of improving barcode product tracking at multiple checkpoints within the manufacturing process. This proactive approach enables rapid identification and resolution of any issues related to defective components, aligning with the high reliability and quality standards demanded by medical device OEMs.
Marco Antonio Lopez, General Manager of NEOTech’s Agave manufacturing site in Juarez, Mexico, emphasized the company’s dedication to customer satisfaction, stating: “Our medical device customers’ peace of mind regarding accurate product tracking is of utmost importance to us. At NEOTech, we value our customers’ products as much as they do. While we already had a robust tracking technology in place, we are committed to enhancing the customer experience and confidence by expanding this technology on the production floor.”
NEOTech continues to prioritize innovation and customer-centric solutions, ensuring that its services consistently meet the evolving needs of the medical device industry. The company’s goal is to successfully convert customers’ product technology into engineered products, providing the most capable supply base, manufacturing products with care and delivering them on time. The company is large enough to offer refined Tier 1 tools, processes, and capabilities, yet small enough to provide individualized care and service. NEOTech provides tailored project-by-project services that focus on each customer’s individual, unique needs. The result is a true collaboration in which the customer’s needs are met – or exceeded – in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
