Compal RMM-T1 Module Achieves Skylo Certification and FCC Approval
September 20, 2024 | Compal Electronics Inc.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Compal is pleased to announce that its RMM-T1 module has successfully obtained Skylo certification and received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This achievement establishes the RMM-T1 as a powerful solution for non-terrestrial network (NTN) satellite connectivity, supporting both L-band and S-band connections. Industries such as logistics, agriculture, maritime, and telecommunications can now take advantage of this advanced module.
Powered by the MediaTek MT6825 NTN chipset, the RMM-T1 supports 3GPP Release 17 IoT-NTN connections, empowering businesses and organizations to leverage reliable satellite communication in remote and challenging environments. Whether for secure data transmission or robust two-way communication, the RMM-T1 ensures dependable connectivity for critical applications. Its rugged design further makes it ideal for outdoor and remote deployments.
Eric Peng, Executive Vice President at Compal, emphasized the significance of achieving Skylo certification and FCC approval. “The RMM-T1 module represents our commitment to innovation in satellite connectivity. It enables customers across various industries to optimize operational efficiency and unlock growth opportunities.”
The Skylo certification process entailed comprehensive testing and evaluation to ensure the RMM-T1 module meets strict quality and performance criteria, including compliance with 3GPP Release-17 standards and Skylo’s Standards Plus qualifications. Skylo’s network is engineered for global coverage, enabling IoT devices equipped with Compal’s module to maintain connectivity even in areas with limited terrestrial infrastructure.
