TPCA Establishes Thailand PCB Academy in Bangkok
August 22, 2025 | TPCAEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
A distinguished delegation of distinguished guests from industry, government, academia, and research in Taiwan and Thailand, including representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand (TECO), as well as professors from several Thai universities and member companies, attended the historic occasion.
In his speech, TPCA Chairman Yuanming Chang (Chairman of Yaohua Electronics) noted that to serve the current wave of PCB companies investing in Thailand, TPCA has held numerous talent matching events and offered online courses since 2023, and has signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with several Thai universities, actively promoting industry-university exchanges. As member companies' factories in Thailand gradually begin mass production, the demand for technical professionals is growing rapidly. The establishment of the "Thailand PCB Academy" aims to further strengthen the connection between industry and academia through this platform, injecting new momentum into the development of Thailand's electronics industry.
Representative Lan Xiali of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, Ms. Sudhasinee Smirtra, Senior Executive Investment Advisor of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), and Dr. Punpermsak Aruni, Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation of Thailand, were also invited to deliver speeches. They highly praised the establishment of the academy and expressed their hope for its future success in cultivating industrial talent.
During the sharing session that day, TPCA shared its blueprint for promoting industry-university collaboration in Thailand, further explaining that the "Thailand PCB Academy" will promote internship programs, invest in professional digital teaching resources, and collaborate with numerous Thai universities and colleges, demonstrating its key role in integrating resources between the industry chain and academia. Afterward, the guests posed for a group photo, marking the official opening of the "Thailand PCB Academy."
The event also featured presentations from several partners, including Ms. Panisa, a representative from the National Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Office (NXPO), who shared the current status of university development in Thailand. Mr. Vichai Saksuriya, President of VanW, shared his experience as a manager at TEDA Electronics for many years, sharing the strengths and challenges of Thai talent. Huang Yating, Senior Manager of Taiwan's leading PCB manufacturer, Unispark Electronics, then explained the current recruitment situation and talent needs of Taiwanese manufacturers in Thailand. Finally, a student from Khon Kaen University, a university with which the association has collaborated closely, shared their experience participating in the online PCB Basic Engineer course in early 2025. From government policies and industry needs to student experiences,
the event showcased diverse perspectives and a vision for collaboration. The meticulously planned event allowed for deeper interaction between participating manufacturers and university representatives. TPCA stated that the "Thailand PCB Academy" will become a key platform for industry-university collaboration between Taiwan and Thailand, and welcomes more universities and colleges to join. The TPCA hopes to cultivate more professional talent through this mechanism and promote the sustainable and mutually beneficial development of the electronics industry in Thailand.
