IPTE Releases Universal Scanner/AOI
February 12, 2008 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
GENK, Belgium The universal scanner system, EasyView, was introduced by IPTE to supplement its machine portfolio, offering a flexible in-line solution for barcode scans, component checks, and solder joint inspection. It uses an ADOMO camera system.
The EasyView platform reads 2D matrix codes and barcodes, checks SMD and press-fit components, verifies dispensed materials, inspects solder joints, and measures PCBs and parts. The EasyView system can process PCBs and multiple PCB panels of up to 460 × 460 mm in size.
The central element of the EasyView system is the ADOMO camera system from the MODI company. Using mirrors driven by stepper motors, the camera field of view (FOV) can be changed from one position to another in milliseconds and with a 1-µm accuracy.
The visual scanner is based on IPTE's modular work cell systems technology. The compact instrument can be integrated in production lines to maximize space.
