Blue Thunder Offers ESD Products
February 8, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
EAST WINDSOR, Conn. Blue Thunder Technologies Inc., produced a line of ESD products for cleanroom and electronics assembly facilities. The offering includes worker attire, flooring, wipes and swaps, and other products.
The ESD (antistatic) Wrist Straps from Blue Thunder are adjustable "Comfort-Stretch" straps. They offer 1-megaΩ resistor as well as a choice of 6- or 12-foot coil cord and a choice of 1/4" or 3/8" snap. The company also produces ESD Heel Straps that provide a large contact surface for more reliable ground path. Width of grounding area provides good floor contact. Other assembler products include ESD Nylon Gloves with conductive fibers running through the glove, and Finger Cots (FCS-F6R).
Flooring options include ESD Floor and Table Matting, a three-layer vinyl table mat used to assist in ESD protection. The table matting uses a proprietary three-layer construction consisting of conductive metalized fleece sandwiched between a solid vinyl top surface and a foam bottom layer. Floor Matting is a two-layer rubber floor matting comprised of a top antistatic layer and a conductive bottom layer to provide a high-temperature static dissipative surface.
VISION5 ESD (Antistatic) Cleanroom Laundered Wipes feature conductive fibers knitted with continuous filament polyester for antistatic and low-lint properties. Abrasion-resistant and low in nonvolatile residue and ionic levels, the wipes are cleanroom laundered, individually inspected, and double-bagged in cleanroom bags. ESD Static Shielding Bags are non-corrosive and feature high seam strength. They are available in numerous sizes and thicknesses. Static and/or moisture barrier types of bags are available.
ESD Swabs from Blue Thunder are for static-sensitive surfaces, absorbent, and low in particulates. Four types of swabs are available with 50 swabs/bag. The company's ESD Brushes use bristles made from conductive fibers mixed with natural hair and handles made from static dissipative plastic. These brushes will not create a charge and also will discharge any potential static charge. Brushes available in three bristle types: hard, semi-fine, and fine, and are available for cleanroom use.
