Puritan Releases ESD-safe Swabs
December 24, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
GUILFORD, Maine Puritan Medical Products LLC created a line of electrostatic discharge- (ESD-) safe swabs with primary applications in microelectronics induustry. The ESD Safe Swabs protect electronic circuitry and devices from the negative effects of ESD. An ESD event can cause an immediate product failure, or cause a product to fail later, affecting product lifespan as well as customer safety and satisfaction. Puritan developed ESD Safe Swabs to respond to demand for a safe swab to use in electronic assembly for production of a range of devices, said Timothy Templet, executive VP of sales.
Puritan Medical Products will expand the ESD Safe Swabs product line in 2008 by manufacturing ESD Safe Swab versions of its major critical-environment swabs. Puritan produces polyester, foam, microfiber, rayon, cotton, and knitted polyester applicators for critical environments and general industrial use.
