Vision System for PCB Machining
November 2, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
MILFORD, N.H. Datron Dynamics Inc. released the Datron IVS integrated vision system for high-speed machining applications. The product mounts to a machining system's Z axis to locate fiducials and compensate for irregularities, reportedly enhancing parts uniformity and minimizing waste.
Datron IVS identifies and inspects fiducial marks on PCBs, and then controls positioning and fixturing. It dynamically compensates for edge-to-fiducial irregularities, skew, and other variances within 20 mm.
The system comprises a camera with light ring, display with images and crosshairs, fiducial teaching, image storage and real-time viewing, 1280 × 1024 pixel resolution with image calibration, ±0.02-mm accuracy, and a metal chassis for stability. Software is based on HALCON Vision Tools.
