Free PCB Layout Software
August 28, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
AURORA, Colo. A free, user-friendly, intuitive PCB layout software suite PCB Artist is available for manufacturers, designs, and engineers.
Advanced Circuits' PCB Artist includes schematic symbol, footprint, and part-creation wizards aimed at simplifying the PCB design process and cutting component-creation time down to five minutes. The software offers Gerber-formatted files upon request, automated component placement and trace routing, and back- and forward-compatible integration that lets users switch to a schematic that translates to the PCB design automatically. Users also have access to a large component library.
Companies such as Woodsys LLC, Boeing Co., Liteye Systems, and BG Tech have adopted Advanced Circuits' software to design PCB layouts, claims the company. Universities will also use PCB Artist in engineering classes as part of the curriculum, beginning this year.
"Designers need software that's easy to learn and understand," said John Yacoub, president and CEO of Advanced Circuits. "We created PCB Artist to serve as an effective tool suitable for all types and levels of PCB designers." For information or to download the software, visit www.pcbartist.com.
