Sierra Proto Acquires Mid-volume Assembler
April 12, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SUNNYVALE, Calif. Sierra Proto Express acquired PC Boards, Inc. (Chanute, Kan.), and plans to grow the facility with further acquisitions and roll-ups. PC Boards is a complementary assembly house to Sierra Proto, said Ken Bahl, president of Sierra Proto.
The Sunnyvale location will continue to provide EMS services for high-technology, small-volume, quick-turn products, while the Chanute facility handles mid-volume, mid-technology products, and adds off-shore alliances to Sierra Proto's portfolio. PC Boards will be called Sierra Midwest, said Dennis Steinman, president and founder of PC Boards, and is targeted to double in capacity over the next few years. Both facilities possess Mil-Spec certifications.
