Flexible Wave System Suits Lead-free and Tin/lead
April 5, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
STRATHAM, N.H. The Delta flexible wave soldering systems 5 and 7 from Vitronics Soltec combine tighter process controls and an optimized operator interface for lead-free and tin/lead manufacturing.
Controls on the preheating, fluxing, atmosphere, and soldering steps make the systems lead-free capable and highly configurable. Closed-loop fluxing and measured preheat and wave height are said to provide reflow process stability.
The Delta platform is designed for high yields, high throughput, reduced downtime, and lower cost of ownership. It targets simple setup and operation. Features include automatic dross removal, open access to chipwave nozzles, and a separate dross compartment for preventative maintenance. The upgraded software, EasyUse, enables programming, setup, and process changes. Models 7 and 5 share characteristics, with 7 being a larger machine.
