Dispenser Offers Flow Control
July 7, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
FAIR LAWN, N.J. The VD510 is a diaphragm valve, from I & J Fisnar, designed for flow control of low- to medium- viscosity materials, below 10,000 cps. Operators can use the stroke-adjustment knob to adjust shot sizes down to a material-dependent minimum of 0.001 cc. Designed for stand-alone bench dispensing or machine integration, the valve weighs 2.7 oz. (76 g) and stands 3.1" high. The DSP501A dispenser is a suitable controller for the VD510 valve.
The valve design separates wetted parts from driving parts, making it practical for cyanoacrylates; reagents; solvents; alcohol; and other volatile, corrosive substances. When air pressure is applied to the valve using a standard dispenser, the valve opens and dispenses material. The valve operates at a pressure of 4.0 6.0 kgf/cm2 (60 90 PSI). It features a spring to assist the valve into a closed position after cycling. The company states that this immediate shut-off minimizes material waste.
