SMART Group Recognizes Its Fellows

BIRMINGHAM, U.K. — During NEPCON NEC, Pete Swanson announced the winners of the 2006 SMART Fellow Award, which is bestowed on individuals to thank them for their active participation in advancing the aim of the SMART Group throughout that year.
Those named to the program include committee members, supporters, and sponsors, as well as those who have helped the organization through media relations. Recipients also include members who regularly attend functions and contribute to the association's seminars, forums, and events. Winners for this year's SMART Fellow Award include:
John Burke of Opitchron Inc.; Frances Coughlan of Kostal Ireland Ltd.; Roger Deakin of BAE (INSYTE); Ron Gow of DKL Metals Ltd.; Jane Griffin of the SMART Group; Marion Quarrington of Measurement Technology Ltd.; Pete Starkey of Starkey Technical Services.Since its inception in 1998, more than 60 people have been recognized with the SMART Fellow Award. The membership of the SMART Group nominates candidates, and group directors vote for the winners.
