Aegis Mixes Universal Platform Optimization Engine
July 26, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
PHILADELPHIA — Aegis Industrial Software Corp. has incorporated Universal Instruments Corp.'s (UIC) optimization engine within Aegis' offline programming environment, providing Genesis/Advantis/GSM platform optimization and library management to support the many options and configurations of these platforms with current and forward compatibility.
Since a majority of UIC's customers use third-party software systems (such as Aegis) for programming both UIC and other automated equipment, UIC developed a strategy that permits software providers to automatically invoke UIC's optimizer engine within their environment. UIC's optimizer engine also provides data checking and simulation, ensuring valid results. Now, all UIC customers can complete their programming effort in a single environment using the Aegis software suite. Aegis offers a full editing environment for UIC's GSM/Genesis/Advantis equipment, reflecting all changes via CDI, CI2 or SRFF file formats.
