ASYS Acquires Screen-printer Supplier EKRA

BÖNNIGHEIM, Germany — To strengthen its market position, ASYS has acquired screen-printer supplier EKRA to include EKRA GmbH, EKRA Asia PTE Ltd. and EKRA America, Inc., effective July 1, 2005. EKRA will be integrated as a fifth business unit of ASYS Automatisierungssysteme GmbH. By adding to the existing ASYS screen-printer offering, ASYS aims to provide customers with integrated and innovative solutions.
EKRA's screen and stencil printer product range includes solutions for SMT, thick film/hybrid, solar and semiconductor packaging. EKRA's Bönnigheim, Germany headquarters will remain independent and secure more than 100 jobs.
Dornstadt, Germany-based ASYS GmbH employs more than 250 people worldwide. With its two regional headquarters in Atlanta and Singapore, ASYS actively promotes its products and services in more than 40 countries. As a global supplier, ASYS offers integrated solutions for material handling, marking systems, depaneling systems, back-end automation and screen printers.
