Libra Industries, SMT Hong Kong Sign Agreement
May 12, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
MENTOR, Ohio — Libra Industries has signed an agreement with SMT Hong Kong, calling for Libra to act as a North American distributor and sales representative of SMT Hong Kong's China-based electronics manufacturing services.
As SMT Hong Kong's distributor, Libra will provide logistics, warranty services and program management to mid-market OEMs. They will also supply new product development, low-volume manufacturing and end-of-life manufacturing support from their U.S.-based facilities; therefore, mid-market OEMs will benefit from a low-risk, China-based option with local stocking and services. On the sales-representative side, Libra will market SMT Hong Kong to large OEMs with direct purchasing capabilities.
