New Barrier Strips Have Safety Cover
February 15, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
HARRISBURG, Pa. — Tyco Electronics' BUCHANAN .325" centerline tri-barrier strips come equipped with a safety cover. Designed for PCB power I/O applications, including industrial controls, power supplies, HVAC, test equipment and telecom, the clear-plastic safety cover allows the terminal contact screw to be loosened and tightened through an access hole. The cover also is hinged to the barrier-strip base, providing access to the wire entry of the contact clamp.
Molded to length from UL 94V-0 black thermoplastic, sizes range from 2 to 8 contact positions. Each contact carries a 15-A, 300-VAC/-VDC current rating. A standard SEMS screw accepts stranded or solid bare copper wire from 22 to 14 AWG and can be fastened with a #2 Phillips or standard slotted screwdriver. Contact material is tin-plated brass.
