Siemens Strengthens Logistics Division

Grand Rapids, Mich.—Siemens announces that it has finalized the integration of Siemens Dematic Corp. of Grand Rapids, Mich., Siemens Dematic Postal Automation L.P. of Arlington, Texas and Siemens Dematic Electronic Assembly Systems of Norcross, Ga. The combined organization is called Siemens Logistics and Assembly Systems Inc. (Siemens L&A), and will be better positioned to leverage synergies among other Siemens operating companies. The company expects this integration to benefit its customers through increased efficiencies, greater speed and more tailored solutions.
Siemens L&A is comprised of four distinct divisions to provide more integrated, cost-effective solutions across the supply chain, including:
*Airport Logistics: Airport baggage, cargo and security solutions.
*Distribution and Industry: Integrated material handling solutions for retail, wholesale, manufacturing, assembly and in-process operations.
*Electronics Assembly: SMT and pick-and-place technology for the electronics industry.
*Postal Automation: Letter, flats, and parcel mail sorting and handling solutions.
