Raw Materials Prices Now Available on IPC Website
November 10, 2004 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Bannockburn, Ill.—Raw materials prices, especially metals, have a direct impact on the cost of producing electronics and affect the entire electronics supply chain. To increase awareness of metals prices, the IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) is providing a new addition to its Website.
On November 1, 2004, IPC added a link: www.ipc.org/metalprices, reporting on the prices of copper, gold, indium, lead, nickel, silver and tin from the London Metal Exchange. The easy-to-read charts will be updated on a monthly basis.
"We've provided this value-added benefit to our members free of charge in order to help customers and suppliers discuss how the rising costs of metals affect their own costs," says Tony Hilvers, IPC VP of industry programs. He adds, "We hope members access and make use of this new resource."
