Janos Technology Creates New Systems Sales Engineer Position for Winkler

Townshend, Vt. — Janos Technology Inc. has hired Robert Winkler to take on the newly created position of systems sales engineer.
Winkler brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in engineering, a strong military electrooptical system background and an accomplished delivery history. He comes to Janos from Corning's Diamond Turning Division in Keene, N.H., where he was most recently a business development specialist and major account manager for Aerospace and Defense customers. His initial role as Corning's systems engineering manager involved working with domestic and international customers to design, fabricate and deliver custom products. Winkler will take on a dual role at Janos that combines his knowledge of military systems engineering with his customer-focused business development expertise. His goal is to identify and integrate business opportunities that incorporate Janos' optical products into complex systems and intricate optical assemblies.He will work both with customers and engineers to realize new business advancements.Winkler's experience also includes work with Lockheed Martin's Infrared Imaging Systems, Raytheon Co.'s Missile Systems Laboratories and Kollmorgen Corp.'s Electro-optics Division. He brings to Janos a skill set that includes diamond machined and conventional optical fabrication; design for manufacturing techniques; precision assembly design; and hands-on manufacturing experience ranging from infrared detector material preparation to extended life dewars, through satellite system assembly. Winkler continues to be an active member in the electrooptics community and is currently serving on the Optical Alignment Devices Program Committee for the SPIE International Symposium on Optical Science and Technology.
