GEM Moves Into Former Jabil Facility, Expands Offerings
February 3, 2004 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Oldsmar, Fla. — Genesis Electronics Manufacturing Inc. (GEM) is transitioning its operations to a facility acquired in July from Jabil Global Services.
In addition to nearly doubling GEM's physical space (to 50,000 sq ft), the facility expands GEM's customer service offerings in the areas of equipment repair and service, specifically in rebuilding monitors, keyboards and telecommunications equipment. Test, repair and refurbishment equipment were acquired along with the facility, and GEM expanded its team by 15 new hires to cover its new areas of service.
Driving GEM's expansion is its "Consider It Done" philosophy, defined as meeting commitments, including the company's commitment to the customer and growing GEM to capacity in order to serve that customer. Making expenditures such as the facility acquisition and personnel additions on the heels of an industry downturn illustrates GEM's commitment to becoming a larger player on a field where many have pulled up stakes during the recent 18 months.
GEM is a medium-volume, high-response electronics manufacturing services provider. For more information, visit www.genesismfg.com.
