U.S. Air Force Uses PinPoint Testers from DiagnoSYS
January 16, 2004 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Kissimmee, Fla. — The U.S. Air Force projects it will turn a small $485,000 investment for four PinPoint II testers from DiagnoSYS Systems into $13 million plus in cost avoidance to rehost more than 100 previously developed software programs for repair of its AWACS fleet.
The cost avoidance will come in lower re-hosting costs, according to the AWACS support equipment program manager, USAF, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts.
The PinPoint testers are one of the systems replacing an older AWACS legacy test system that is no longer fully supported by its manufacturer. The PinPoint testers provide a means to prevent repair workflow downtime due to premature legacy system failure, a situation unacceptable to AWACS.
DiagnoSYS Systems Inc. is a provider of test solutions and services offering a full spectrum of products from board test to telecom protocol testers and automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment. For more information, visit www.diagnosys-usa.com.
