San Diego — Kyocera Wireless Corp. announces its ISO 14001 recertification, a strict international management standard that establishes requirements for environmental responsibility through an Environmental Management System (EMS).
Since the company's last ISO 14001 recertification audit three years ago, Kyocera Wireless Corp. has enhanced its Energy Management Control System (EMCS), resulting in a savings of $124,000 and almost 1 million kilowatt hours (Kwh) of electricity. The company has cut the amount of energy required to produce each of its wireless phones by 20 percent over the past two years. Implementing reclaimed water for irrigation has reduced water costs by 40 percent and cut the use of potable water at Kyocera Wireless in half.
