AVX Sees Recent Order Activity

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — AVX Corp. announced at the Smith Barney Citigroup Technology Conference in New York that the book to bill for July and August have been positive.
AVX President John Gilbertson indicated during the conference that the incoming orders have been good in July and August with a positive book to bill in both months. He cautioned that selling prices are still under negative pressures and hurting margins, but the revenue improvement during the summer months is a positive indicator.
