Duraswitch Extends Memtron License to Include Advanced Input Devices
July 2, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Phoenix — Duraswitch has extended an existing license with Memtron Technologies to sister company Advanced Input Devices (AID).
Under the terms of the agreement, AID will be authorized to market, manufacture and distribute Duraswitch's electronic switch technologies. Both Memtron and AID are divisions of Esterline Technologies .
Advanced Input Devices reportedly has the largest and most comprehensive engineering capability in the input industry. AID's experience and skills include product development, electronic design, packaging, electronic assembly and product testing. This license expands AID's product line to include Duraswitch's unique magnetically coupled switch portfolio — furthering their capabilities in switch integration and control panel design.
Duraswitch's portfolio of patented electronic switch technologies includes the thiNcoder, a rotary switch that is integrated on flex circuit; the MagnaMouse, a low-cost, flat-panel cursor control; and the PushGate pushbutton. These enabling technologies offer a number of benefits including: ability to integrate multiple switch types in flat-panel and slim-profile designs; high durability and reliability; sealability against harsh environments; illumination capabilities; an ergonomic, user-friendly interface; and can be used for controls in a wide variety of commercial and industrial designs.
Advanced Input Devices (AID) is the industry leader in custom input integration design and manufacturing capabilities extending from single-station keypads to full, multifunction input subsystems, incorporating keypads, cursor-control devices, displays, touch screens and audio feedback.
