Agilent Technologies Collaborates with China Integrated Design Center to Establish China's First SOC Engineering Testing Center
January 21, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Palo Alto, Calif. and Beijing -- Agilent Technologies Inc. is collaborating with China Integrated Circuit Design Center (CIDC) to establish Beijing's first SOC (system-on-a-chip) Engineering Testing Center.
The new SOC Engineering Testing Center is expected to offer high-quality testing services to IC design houses throughout Beijing's rapidly growing semiconductor industry.
CIDC, China's first professional IC design company, has developed a range of IC products with applications in smart cards, digital video devices, network equipment, ASICs and SOC products. To further develop CIDC's capability in engineering verification testing (EVT) and batch testing for the IC design industry, the company has adopted the Agilent 93000 SOC series test system, one of the most advanced SOC test systems in the industry.
Using the 93000 SOC platform, CIDC is able to test system-level chips at up to 600 MHz, incorporating microprocessor units, high-speed digital ICs, embedded memory and analog chips.
CIDC's testing services are well known in Beijing and across China. Agilent also supplies certification-related testing services to several well-known IC design companies in Beijing. The joint effort between the two companies will provide better value-added services to clients by leveraging both companies' resources. Agilent has committed to expanded technological education and training for engineers in Beijing, as well as to familiarize more design houses with its 93000 testing system. Meanwhile, CIDC has indicated that their engineers will strive to excel in operating the 93000 testing system, ensuring on-site technical support to IC design companies requesting testing services.
CIDC, a subsidiary of China Electronics Corp. (CEC), was founded in 1986. As China's first specialized IC design house, it has grown to produce over 100 million yuan worth of ICs per year. For more information, visit www.cidc.com.cn.
