EXFO Posts Sales Growth for Third Consecutive Quarter

Quebec City, Canada -- EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has posted sales growth for a third consecutive quarter following the release of first-quarter results for fiscal 2003.
Sales increased 3 percent to US $17.7 million in the first quarter ended November 30, 2002 from US $17.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2002, but decreased 12 percent from US $20.1 million in the first quarter of 2002.
EXFO's pro forma net loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2003 amounted to US $1.4 million, or US 2 cents per share, compared to a pro forma net loss of US $1.2 million, or US 2 cents per share, for the fourth quarter of 2002 and a pro forma net loss of US $1.9 million, or US 3 cents per share, for the first quarter of 2002.
