NEMA Announces New CEO Governance in Lighting and Motor Industries

Rosslyn, Va. -- Members of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) motor and generator and lighting sections have changed their governance structures to directly engage participation by the top-level decision makers of those companies.
The Lighting Systems Division has established a 15-person CEO-level Board of Directors that consists of 10 CEO seats and five additional seats that will rotate to ensure balanced product coverage and small company representation.
The new board is comprised of Ken Honeycutt of Acuity Lighting, Brian Dundon of Advance Transformer Co., Fritz Zeck of Cooper Lighting, Michael Petras of GE Lighting, Larry Powers of Genlyte Thomas Group, Wes Brown of Hubbell Lighting, Charlie Jerabek of Osram Sylvania General Lighting, Alan Weiss of Osram Sylvania Electronic Control Systems, Erik Bouts of Philips Lighting Co., Pat Sullivan of Universal Lighting Technologies, and Keith Ward of EYE Lighting International, Tracy Bilbrough of Juno Lighting, John Longenderfer of Lutron Electronics, Jim Himonas of Novitas, and Jim George of Permlight Products.
The Motor and Generator Section has formed a nine-person CEO-level Board of Directors that consists of six CEO seats with three additional seats that will rotate. Sitting on the new board are Mark Gliebe of GE Industrial Systems, Henry Knueppel of Regal-Beloit Corp., Dick Schul of Emerson, Joe Swann of Rockwell Automation, Chad McLelland of Siemens Energy & Automation, Shimono Masauki of Toshiba International, Leo McGuire of Brook Crompton, Walter Janssen of WEG Electric Motors, and Ray Helton of Sterling Electric.
The new boards will provide budget direction and set strategic policy setting for their respective industries, as well as strengthen the role of NEMA in customer and end-user communities.
NEMA industry director Kyle Pitsor will work with both product sections to implement the reorganizations and assist in communication between product committees, sections, and the new boards. NEMA is the leading trade association in the United States representing the interests of electroindustry manufacturers. Founded in 1926 and headquartered near Washington, D.C., its 400 member companies manufacture products used in the generation, transmission and distribution, control and end use of electricity.
