Elcoteq Appoints Harri Ollila President, Elcoteq Europe

Helsinki, Finland -- Harri Ollila, MSc (Eng.) MBA, has been appointed president, Europe of Elcoteq beginning January 1, 2003.
Europe is currently the largest of Elcoteq's three geographical areas in terms of business volume. In his new position Ollila will be responsible for the sales, production and financial performance of the Terminal Products and the Communications Network Equipment business areas in Europe. Based in Espoo, Finland, he will report to President and CEO Lasse Kurkilahti, who heads GA Europe in addition to his other responsibilities until Ollila takes up the post.
Ollila joins Elcoteq from ABB Oy's Automation Division, where he is currently head of a business unit and global key account manager. He has held various positions in ABB since 1983 both in Finland and abroad.
