The NEPCON West conference offerings are separated into several types of classes: Tutorials, Professional Advancement Courses, Workshops and Technical Sessions.
Tutorials. These two-day (12-hour) sessions provide comprehensive coverage of a topic or discipline. The intensive, in-depth courses are designed to train novices and update experienced professionals. The material covered includes intermediate-level information as well as advanced theory and practice. Tutorials are conducted by leading industry experts with many years of practical experience.
Professional Advancement Courses are full-day (6-hour), 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., educational programs led by electronics industry professionals with extensive experience in the course subject area. Course leaders will deliver focused, in-depth presentations on topics of current importance to the industry, based on their research and experience. These courses are applications-oriented and structured to combine field experience with scientific research to solve practical, everyday problems.
The half-day (3-hour) Workshop courses are taught by electronics industry professionals with extensive experience in the subject area of the program. The course leaders present current information and review existing theory and practice on specific topics. Workshops are applications-oriented, introduce new concepts, and serve as both a primer for those who are new to a technology and as a refresher course for those who need to review and update their knowledge. They are designed for attendees who want to sharpen their skills and review current research. Workshops are held in the morning, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and in the afternoon, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Technical Sessions are three-hour programs held in the morning, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and afternoon, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The objective of these sessions is to bring new scientific or technical developments to light and provide broad coverage of a topic of interest to the electronics industry.
