Mek (Marantz Electronics) Expands Sales Network in the Americas

AOI & SPI designer and manufacturer Mek (Marantz Electronics) has announced the further expansion of its American sales network with the addition of Manufacturers' Representative, Spectra Sales Corporation.
Led by George Holsomback, the company will be representing Mek’s leading edge SPI and AOI technology in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. The new partnership will expand the Mek support team to meet growing demands in this important market.
With over 40 years of experience in the High Tech arena, Spectra Sales specialize in capital equipment, consumables, and related support for the electronic assembly and test industry.
George Holsomback, President of Spectra Sales Corporation said: "We are extremely proud at the announcement of this appointment and look forward to working with Mek. The addition of the Mek products to our current portfolio will further enhance our ability to offer optimum test and inspection solutions to our customers in the electronics manufacturing market place.”
Since 1996, Mek has been delivering commercial AOI systems throughout the global electronics industry, and has a current installed base of over 5000 machines. More recently, the company launched its highly innovative SpectorBox bottom-up / top-down modular AOI.
About Mek (Marantz Electronics Ltd)
A former division of Marantz well known for its high quality Audio/Video products, Mek Japan (Marantz Electronics Kabushiki Kaisha), developed its first AOI system in 1994. Developed to inspect PCB assemblies for correct component placement and soldering, the company’s original AOI system was designed for use in Marantz factories. Proving to be a highly successful, cost-effective alternative to traditional human inspection, Mek developed its first generation commercial system in 1996. With a steadily growing installed base, MEK Japan and its European/American headquarters, Mek, have sold over 5000 units worldwide to date. Now well established as a leading force in AOI technologies, the company recently launched a 5D post-print SPI system which combines 3D and 2D image processing methodologies to deliver unprecedented defect detection. When asked if they expected labor costs for hourly workers to rise over the next month, manufacturers in the United States, Mexico, and Europe predicted a five percent increase, while manufacturers in Asia predicted a slightly lower four percent increase.
