Super Dry Launches Series of Expandable Desiccant Cabinets
December 7, 2016 | Super DryEstimated reading time: 1 minute

Moisture specialist Super Dry has launched a new series of desiccant storage solutions.
Complementing the company’s extensive range of ultra-low humidity drying and storage cabinets, the MSD Series features very high performance dehumidification in a modular design that costs 50% less than conventional solutions.
Ever increasing miniaturization of electronics, including thinner components and new materials has made the management of moisture sensitivity an increasingly critical element of product reliability. Manufacturers are being challenged to manage larger and larger volumes of parts in a controlled and traceable manner.
Cabinet recovery time is a critical performance factor and frequent and extended door openings impact the interior environment. Super Dry® MSD cabinets provide recovery times after door openings of 3 minutes. The new closed loop U 5003 desiccant unit achieves <0.5% RH and is able to comfortably control 3600 liters (127 cubic feet) of storage. This reduces the cost of extended storage space by 50%, and can be added in the field. Performance data is traceable in real time via built in Ethernet connection. The ESD safe enclosures feature individually lockable doors which are alarmed for out of spec RH or extended opening times. Retractable steel shelves on metal roller bearings provide excellent ergonomics, and the unique aspect ratio is deep enough to even accept tape feeders.
About Super Dry®
Delivering globally to the world’s top tier OEM and EMS companies, and manufacturing in Asia and inEurope, Totech Super Dry has become the industry measure for ultra low humidity storage cabinets. Proper control of moisture sensitive devices (MSDs) per IPC and JEDEC standards has become more critical than ever since the introduction of lead free and its higher reflow temperatures. Boasting <1% relative humidity control and the fastest recovery times, Super Dry cabinets are available in a wide range of sizes and configurations, all with certified performance control measures.
