February 14, 2017 | Ryder Industries Ltd.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Ryder Industries Ltd has announced that it has been successful in obtaining ISO 16949 certification. ISO/TS 16949 is regarded as the world’s foremost quality standard for the automotive industry, and realizes cost savings through improved process effectiveness and efficiency.
Certification to this technical specification clears Ryder to manufacture electronic assemblies for automotive products at its new inland plant XinFeng. Its coastal Shenzhen plant has been certificated since 2004.
The ISO/TS 16949 standard, issued by the International Automotive Task Force, specifies advanced quality system requirements for design, development, production, installation and servicing. It focuses on continual improvement, in particular on reducing defects, variation and waste in the automotive manufacturing. The standard also outlines and reinforces best practices in quality management. This is good news for Ryder’s customers, suppliers, and the environment.
Ryder has chosen work with the respected German TÜV Nord as their certifying body, because of their famously rigorous approach. Certification from TÜV Nord confirms Ryder’s commitment to quality.
