Jabil AOC Technologies and Elenion Technologies Collaborate
March 22, 2017 | Jabil Circuit Inc.Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
Jabil AOC Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jabil Circuit, announced today that Elenion Technologies LLC, a developer of next-generation photonic Integrated Circuit (IC) technologies and solutions, has leveraged Jabil’s market-proven advanced packaging capabilities for their new coherent optical engines. Elenion Technologies’ silicon photonic optical engines enable communications for Data Center Interconnect (DCI) and Telecom markets. The collaboration extends capabilities to enhance onboard optical transceivers for intra-data center applications.
“We are delighted to have the expert support of Jabil AOC Technologies as our manufacturing solution partner,” said Larry Schwerin, president and CEO of Elenion Technologies. “Unlike traditional build-to-print contract manufacturers, Jabil AOC Technologies has provided us with a wealth of value-added and innovative engineering support and time-to-market synergies.”
Jabil AOC Technologies leverages its parent company’s Lean operations and digital supply chain capabilities to deliver comprehensive cost-effective solutions including prototyping, design engineering, lifecycle management, supply chain optimization, design-for-manufacturing, opto-mechanical/RF/thermal simulations, vertical integration, end-to-end testing, new product introduction and scalable volume manufacturing.
“Our close collaboration with industry innovators like Elenion embodies Jabil AOC Technologies’ mission as a next-generation Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) 2.0 solution provider for optical network and data center infrastructure designers,” said Kenny Wilson, senior vice president of Global Business Units at Jabil AOC Technologies. “We are committed to continuing our investment in strategic optical capabilities that simplify the supply chain and empower our customers to focus on delivering competitive differentiated value to their end-markets.”
Since Jabil’s acquisition of AOC Technologies in 2015, the company has successfully positioned itself as a leader and trusted optical communications solutions partner. Jabil AOC Technologies greatly reduces the need for customers to maintain multiple vendors by offering a single point-of-accountability, and delivering solutions that range from new product introduction to full production.
