April 7, 2017 | Kimball ElectronicsEstimated reading time: 1 minute

Kimball Electronics Inc. has appointed Gregory A. Thaxton to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Thaxton will also serve on the Audit Committee of the Board.
Thaxton was selected following an extensive national search in partnership with RSR Partners of Northfield, Illinois. The appointment of Thaxton will enhance the Board’s strategic and financial expertise as well as fill a vacancy left by the resignation of former Board member Christopher B. Curtis.
Thaxton is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nordson Corp., a $1.8 billion publicly traded industrial technology company focused on precision dispensing, fluid management, and related processes with operations in nearly 40 countries. He has more than 25 years of experience serving in various domestic and international financial management and leadership roles with Nordson after beginning his career with a Big Four public accounting firm. Thaxton is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Miami University, as well as an MBA in international management from Baldwin Wallace University.
“Speaking on behalf of our Board, we are honored to have Greg join us to add his knowledge, experience, and counsel, especially given his strong financial background. It was extremely important to us that we recruit not only a very capable, sitting executive, but also an individual who shares our common values and embraces our guiding principles,” said Don Charron, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

High-frequency EMC Noise in DC Circuits
05/29/2025 | Karen Burnham, EMC UnitedEMC isn’t black magic, but it’s easy to understand why it seems that way. When looking at a schematic like that in Figure 1, it looks like you’re only dealing with DC signals all across the board. There’s a 28 VDC input that goes through an EMI filter, then gets converted to 12 VDC power. Except in extremely rare circumstances involving equipment sensitive to magnetostatic fields, DC electricity will never be part of an EMC problem.

Connect the Dots: Proactive Controlled Impedance
05/29/2025 | Matt Stevenson -- Column: Connect the DotsFrom data centers to smartphones, designers know that the ohms have it. Getting impedance right ensures all-important signal integrity and delivers high-performing boards. Our designers understand the importance of controlled impedance, but not everyone addresses it in their designs. The most common and important controlled impedance types we see include microstrip, stripline, embedded microstrip, and differential pairs.
