Mycronic Receives Order for Prexision-MMS System and an Upgrade
July 18, 2017 | Mycronic ABEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Mycronic AB has received an order for a Prexision-MMS for quality assurance of advanced photomasks from a customer in Asia. The system is scheduled to be delivered in the end of 2018. At the same time, the customer has ordered an upgrade of a previously delivered mask writer Prexision-8. This system will be upgraded to a full scale Generation 10 (G10) photomask production unit.
The total order value, including the Prexision-MMS and the Prexision system upgrade, is in the span $18-22 million.
Mycronic offers mask writers for the manufacturing of photomasks within different fields of application. These areas are display manufacturing (for TV, smart phones and tablets among other things) and applications within the multi-purpose market, a broad segment comprising many different application areas, such as electronic packaging, MEMS, touch panels and other similar applications.
"We are happy to announce that our customer has now decided to upgrade one of their systems to enable manufacturing of large G10 photomasks. As they also ordered a system for quality assurance they secure efficient production of high quality large photomasks," says Magnus Råberg, Sr VP & General Manager Pattern Generators at Mycronic. "We see the market needs for quality assurance of the largest photomasks. Therefore we have decided to further develop our Prexision-MMS, which was initially developed to secure high quality production of photomasks with Prexision-80 and Prexision-800, to include also G10 photomasks."
