August 2, 2017 | KICEstimated reading time: 1 minute
KIC has promoted Carlos Espinoza to the position Operations Manager. Espinoza joined KIC in September 2016 as a senior buyer/planner, and quickly climbed the ladder at KIC to operations manager within eight months.
Espinoza commented about his promotion, "A phrase that I live by and use a lot is to 'think in the solution, not in the problem'. This is how I approach each opportunity here at KIC. I am always looking for new solutions and ways to improve efficiency.”
An experienced production buyer/planner and materials manager, Espinoza gained his experience from respected companies, including Kyocera-Wireless (formerly Qualcomm) and Access Scientific Inc. He has more than 20 years of planning, forecasting, purchasing, supply chain and inventory management experience to drive efficiencies and reduce costs.
Espinoza completed the APICS Material Certification Program at San Diego State University, as well as numerous training courses: SPC, TQM, Coaching for Results, Selecting Exceptional Employees, Leading and Facilitating Effective Meeting, Project Management, Strategic Thinking, Creating High Performance Teams, Critical Thinking, Leadership Development Academy, Supervisor Training, and extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP Oracle systems.

The Chemical Connection: Thoughts on the Evolution of Automation
01/07/2026 | Don Ball -- Column: The Chemical ConnectionSerious discussions about automation in the PCB industry began in the mid-1970s. I profess no great expertise in automation, but I have been around the industry for a while now (I may have mentioned that on occasion), and I have seen many successful and unsuccessful attempts at automation over the years. As such, I have no hesitation in presenting my thoughts on automation. Feel free to agree or disagree.
