Koh Young Americas Adds Strategic Marketing & Sales Capability

In a strategic move by the world’s leading True 3D measurement company to further accelerate its growth and continue delivering best-in-class intelligent inspection solutions, Koh Young Americas hired Brent Fischthal for the newly created position of Senior Manager for Americas Marketing and Eastern Regional Sales.
With over 20 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership roles in the global electronics assembly industry, Fischthal was the ideal candidate for the role. He brings industry-focused experience in marketing strategy, sales management, business intelligence, and product management from positions held previously at Panasonic Factory Solutions Company, Philips Assembleon, and Universal Instruments. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from West Virginia University and an M.B.A. from the University of Florida Hough Graduate School of Business.
Fischthal also serves to advance the electronics industry in several capacities, including the SMTA Carolinas Chapter Board of Directors and the SMTA Marketing Committee. He is also on the Assembly Equipment Statistical Committee and the Tradeshow Committee for IPC, a global trade association serving the electronics assembly industry. Additionally, he is an Board of Directors member with MESA International, a global community focused on driving business results from manufacturing information. Together with his application and process knowledge, he has authored several technical whitepapers to support the development of advanced surface mount assembly techniques.

Worldwide Silicon Wafer Shipments Dip 5% in Q1 2024

I originally had compared AI to drag racing in that (CPU) horsepower and new (data) vehicles have steadily delivered higher performance competition. That seemed pretty accurate given how generative AI models dominated the popular media with amazing results—and sometimes spectacular crashes.
