Seika Machinery Inc.'s Michelle Ogihara, senior sales and marketing manager, will participate in a round table discussion held by What's New in Electronics (WNIE) TV during SMTA International 2017. The round table, entitled, "High Time to Close the Gender Gap in STEM," is scheduled to take place September 19, 2017 from 2:15-2:30 p.m.
It is generally accepted that women continue to be underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and math. What are we doing about it in our industry? Are companies placing enough emphasis on putting quality, talent and diversity at the top of their agenda?
This session will discuss the progress that is being made and some of the hurdles that may still need to be overcome. The discussion will investigate what initiatives exist in the electronics manufacturing industry for women already working within the industry and what is being done to encourage more women to work in the industry.
As the Senior Sales and Marketing Manager at Seika, Ms. Ogihara is responsible for overseeing the national sales, marketing and distribution of Seika equipment throughout North and South America. Ogihara is an active member of the SMTA and has more than 17 years of experience in the PCB equipment industry.
