COO of Elmatica Takes on Broadened Mandate
September 29, 2017 | ElmaticaEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Elmatica COO Raymond Goh recently increased his responsibilities in the company. Goh has filled the role as COO of Elmatica APAC (Asia and Pacific) since 2013.
"We have increased the mandate of Mr. Goh to encompass all the markets where Elmatica is present. Raymond comes from Singapore and with his international experience and understanding of the market and all the actors, he is a valuable asset to Elmatica. Raymond has proven himself as a key strategic and operational element in our company and I am confident that his knowledge and culture will be vital for us in the years to come," says Elmatica CEO Didrik Bech.
As Ernst & Young pointed out in The DNA of the COO, “Rather than possessing a single set of skills that can be easily identified in any business, COOs have to adapt, chameleon-like, to the environment in which they find themselves.” Raymond definitely fits this description. His ability to bridge the gap between new strategies and visions, and the day-to-day business is unique, and highly valued at Elmatica, says Bech.
Goh is based at the Elmatica Hong Kong office and previously came from Sanmina Corporation (NASDAQ: SANM) to the printed circuit broker Elmatica in 2013.
"I am grateful for the increased mandate. The complexity and diversity of our products, customers, partners and industries, combined with external challenges like copper shortage and global competition, is what makes this position particular interesting. I look forward to developing new strategies, implementing them and encountering new challenges with a group of highly educated and experienced colleagues, which have operated in the Printed Circuit industry since 1971," says Goh.
About Elmatica
Elmatica was established in 1971 and is the oldest broker of PCB in the world. Delivering to 5 continents and 39 countries with over 10 000 orders per year, to small family businesses and companies listed on the stock exchange. With over 46 years experience in the industry, Elmatica has a unique understanding of the market, demand, supply to three continents, compliance and future trends and possibilities of Printed Circuits. We are honoured for being selected to chair several new independent standards in our industry, with organizations as IPC and NEMI. Elmatica’s products include consulting, procurement, manufacturing and logistics. Elmatica is all about the future of PCB.

The Evolution of Picosecond Laser Drilling
06/19/2025 | Marcy LaRont, PCB007 MagazineIs it hard to imagine a single laser pulse reduced not only from nanoseconds to picoseconds in its pulse duration, but even to femtoseconds? Well, buckle up because it seems we are there. In this interview, Dr. Stefan Rung, technical director of laser machines at Schmoll Maschinen GmbH, traces the technology trajectory of the laser drill from the CO2 laser to cutting-edge picosecond and hybrid laser drilling systems, highlighting the benefits and limitations of each method, and demonstrating how laser innovations are shaping the future of PCB fabrication.

Preventing Surface Prep Defects and Ensuring Reliability
06/10/2025 | Marcy LaRont, PCB007 MagazineIn printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication, surface preparation is a critical process that ensures strong adhesion, reliable plating, and long-term product performance. Without proper surface treatment, manufacturers may encounter defects such as delamination, poor solder mask adhesion, and plating failures. This article examines key surface preparation techniques, common defects resulting from improper processes, and real-world case studies that illustrate best practices.
RF PCB Design Tips and Tricks
05/08/2025 | Cherie Litson, EPTAC MIT CID/CID+There are many great books, videos, and information online about designing PCBs for RF circuits. A few of my favorite RF sources are Hans Rosenberg, Stephen Chavez, and Rick Hartley, but there are many more. These PCB design engineers have a very good perspective on what it takes to take an RF design from schematic concept to PCB layout.
