CBT Announces Improved Print Speeds with New DI Solder Mask
October 9, 2017 | Chime Ball TechnologyEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Chime Ball Technology (CBT), Taiwan, announced today that they were able to achieve print speeds between 30-32 second per side on an 18 x 24 panel size using their Phoenix and Raptor DI models and a new DI solder mask from Electra Polymer LTD, England. The combination of the CBT technology and the Electra Polymers EMP110/5840 TG DI solder mask produced the best-known speeds for solder mask in the market.
CBT is a worldwide supplier and manufacturer of state of the art semi-automatic and automatic contact printers located in Taiwan. At the end of 2015, CBT purchased the Direct Imaging technology from Maskless Lithography Inc (MLI) U.S.A. CBT retained the R & D staff from MLI and in joint cooperation with CBT's engineering team, have continued to advance the MLI technology forward and are also developing the next generation of their LED technology that will be released early next year.
Wonder Chang, President of CBT stated, “we are very pleased with the results we achieved with the Electra EMP110/5840 TG DI solder mask. It allows our customers to have a more efficient solution to solder mask printing, especially on tighter technology. CBT’s proprietary & patented hardware, software, front to back registration methodology and sequential lamination targeting is unmatched in the industry. The CBT technology provides customers with the most consistent relationship in registration between inner layer, outer layer and solder mask printing. We are pleased to notify our customers about a more productive path in utilizing the benefits of our DI technology to print solder mask more efficiently”.
The Electra EMP110/5840 TG DI solder mask is a universal mask which allows customers to not only print on the CBT DI systems but also print on standard contact printers used today by most PCB fabricators. This universal mask will provide customers with more flexibility for printing solder mask in their operation while delivering a consistent appearance.
About CBT
Chime Ball Technology (CBT) designs and manufactures CCD Alignment, Semi-Auto and Fully Automatic contact exposure machines and LED direct imaging equipment for PCB manufacturing. CBT is the largest contact exposure system supplier in Asia. The main company, is headquartered in Taoyuan, Taiwan, with subsidiary companies located in Shanghai and Guangdong, China.
