Electrolube Awarded IATF 16949 Automotive Standard
November 3, 2017 | ElectrolubeEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Demonstrating its continuing commitment to achieving excellence in manufacturing and service provision, Electrolube has been awarded the International Automotive Task Force's new global quality management standard, IATF 16949. The global automotive sector presents huge growth potential and demand for electronic protection products, and Electrolube has been particularly proactive in its development of a broad portfolio of electro-chemical products for use in harsh environments.
The Electrolube range includes Conformal Coatings, Encapsulation Resins, Cleaning and preparation chemicals, Thermal Management materials and Contact Lubricants that satisfy every requirement for the protection of vehicle electronics and associated controls, from interior and exterior lighting to challenging under-hood applications.
The automotive sector is particularly strict in its selection and management of supply chain partners, who must demonstrate not just excellence in terms of product quality and performance, but also the quality of their staff, their manufacturing processes and manufacturing environment. The IATF 16949 standard (which replaces ISO/TS 16949) establishes the requirements for a Quality Management System covering the design, development, manufacture, installation and servicing of automotive products, and the achievement of best practice in all these activities.
Electrolube's Beijing subsidiary was also awarded the IATF 16949 standard earlier this year, providing further evidence of this leading electro-chemicals manufacturer's global vision and commitment to excellence in every aspect of its business.
Electrolube's products and manufacturing processes are compliant with a wide range of internationally recognised standards, to identify the properties and performance of Electrolube products throughout all areas of the electronics industry. The company also won the Queens’ Award for Enterprise last year and has been endorsed by the ISO 14001 standard for the highly efficient Environmental Management System in place at the company. Many of Electrolube’s products meet strict Underwriters Laboratory standards for flame retardancy and many products meet European and American military specifications.
Ron Jakeman, Managing Director of HK Wentworth Group (Electrolube's parent company) commented, "We are delighted to be awarded the IATF 16949 standard, which is fitting recognition of our strengths and capabilities to meet the demanding environments and requirements of the automotive industry manufacturing sector. Electrolube has experienced expansive growth with the automotive industry worldwide and many of our product groups lend themselves effectively to the vast array of challenging automotive applications. Our compliance with the IATF’s global quality management standard is an important step for us and it joins an extensive host of standards that our products and services currently meet both at home and abroad.”
