Aegis Software Recognized as Notable Vendor in Gartner Report
January 12, 2018 | Aegis SoftwareEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Aegis Software has been cited as a Notable Vendor in the Gartner report, Aerospace and Defense Context: "Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems", and in the Industrial and High-Tech/Electronics Manufacturing Context: "Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems" report.
In the Aerospace & Defense Context Report, Gartner identifies Aegis Software as one of four notable vendors and notes that "The aerospace and defense (A&D) industry is, from a manufacturing perspective, unlike any other vertical. The end products of A&D resemble automotive, aircraft, watercraft, weaponry and others, and can involve process and discrete manufacturing styles in the production of these end products. What these manufacturers all have in common, regardless of manufacturing style or end product, is the need to adhere to key design, quality, traceability and compliance requirements. These requirements are enforced up and down the A&D supply chain, from preproduction to program ramp-up and sustainment (maintenance repair and overhaul)."
"We are very pleased to be identified as a notable vendor by Gartner, and consider this inclusion as a reaffirmation of our experience and ability to deliver the manufacturing community innovative, leading-edge technology that consistently generates benefits for our customers," stated Jason Spera, CEO of Aegis Software.
FactoryLogix is a holistic and modular platform that delivers leading-edge technology with easily configurable modules to support and execute a discrete manufacturer's strategy towards Industry 4.0. FactoryLogix manages the entire manufacturing lifecycle: from product launch to material logistics, through manufacturing execution, to powerful analytics and real-time dashboards. Built upon a native IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) engine, with a standards-based machine and asset connectivity layer, this end-to-end platform helps manufacturers accelerate product introductions, streamline processes, improve quality and traceability, reduce costs and gain greater visibility for competitive advantage.
In the Industrial and High-Tech/Electronics Manufacturing Context report, Gartner states that "The majority of MES vendors serve the discrete industrial marketplace. Even in that space, there are individual specialties that require unique capabilities and, in turn, vendors that support those unique capabilities. Specializations in the industrial and high-tech/electronics world include semiconductor manufacturing capability, plastic injection molding, management and control of production tooling, box build, electronic work instruction management, and technology-related lean manufacturing."
"Twenty years ago, Aegis Software built manufacturing software able to handle the extreme complexity of electronics assembly and traceability. As result of this heritage, today’s solution suite handles the most complex discrete manufacturing scenarios with ease and elegance ensuring quicker time to value for our customers," stated Spera. "It is FactoryLogix' unique level of configurability and robust capabilities that enable companies to achieve Industry 4.0 benefits in a cost-effective manner. Our platform makes it easy for manufacturers to evolve from predetermined, inflexible and linear processes to the Industry 4.0 ideal. A manufacturing paradigm in which the factory automatically adapts to mass customization, single-piece flow while accommodating ever-changing marketing conditions, regulations, customers and partners in their supply chain."

Nolan’s Notes: Is Mexico the Pulse of Electronics in the Americas?
11/04/2025 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesLast year, I attended SMTA Guadalajara, where I saw the results of the Mexican investment in electronics manufacturing. The U.S. was still operating under the Biden administration, and while Mexican EMS companies had expanded capacity to support EV manufacturing, the demand dropped significantly. In my conversations at the show, the sentiment was one of patience. They knew the EV business would likely come back. However, they didn’t expect an overhaul of U.S. trade agreements and tariffs that would shift a more diversified portfolio in Mexico’s direction.
