Electrica Boosts Quality Standards with Mirtec MV-3 OMNI

MIRTEC has announced that Electrica Ltd purchased an MV-3 OMNI 3D AOI system to help increase quality and productivity throughout all phases of their manufacturing process as the company engages with more customers in the high-reliability markets.
"We are delighted to be supplying Electrica Ltd. with the highest specification 3D AOI benchtop in the world," says David Bennett, president of Mirtec Europe. "This machine means they’re capable of dealing with the most complex and demanding manufacturing inspection requirements."
Electrica provides world-class design and manufacturing services to a range of sectors, and as designs become more complex, the need for advanced inspection becomes critical.
"We are investing heavily in the latest equipment to give our clients confidence in the quality of our products and services. The Mirtec MV3-Omni will ensure that our PCB inspection is consistent with the IPC-A-610 Class III standard," says Andy Nield, operations manager for Electrica.

Inside their recently refurbished 12,500 sq ft premises, Electrica have seven in-house design engineers, IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001-trained assembly staff and surface mount production lines, as well as through-hole and box-build capabilities.
The Dukinfield firm also provide design and manufacturing expertise across a wide variety of markets including life science, defense, aviation, research and automotive, among others.
The MV-3 OMNI Desktop 3D AOI Machine is configured with MIRTEC’s OMNI-VISION 3D Inspection Technology, which combines MIRTEC’s exclusive 15 Mega Pixel CoaXPress Industrial Camera System with their revolutionary 12 Projection Digital Multi-Frequency Moiré 3D Technology in a newly designed Desktop platform.
Fully-configured, the new MIRTEC MV-3 OMNI machines feature four 18 Mega Pixel Side-View Cameras in addition to the 15 Mega Pixel CoaXPress Top-Down Camera, making this system the most technologically-advanced desktop AOI machine in the world.
